Mark Your Calendars: Local Public Hearing May 16

Save The Aurora Reservoir secures Local Public Hearing on behalf of Southeast Aurora residents.

The Colorado Energy & Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) has approved its first-ever local public hearing to gather feedback directly from residents and community members in the area around the Lowry Ranch CAP. The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds Event Center (map). Doors open at 4 pm, with welcome remarks and public comment scheduled for 5โ€“8 pm. Childcare and Spanish language interpretation services will be provided.

The request for this hearing was submitted by Save The Aurora Reservoir and supported by the Arapahoe County Board of Commissioners. The hearing marks a rare in-person gathering of ECMC commissioners, who usually meet virtually, in the area that stands to be most affected by the CAP. This is a unique opportunity for stakeholders and affected parties to speak directly to decision makers.

Please don’t miss your chance to speak out against the Lowry Ranch CAP in front of the ECMC commissioners. This is likely to be the last opportunity to make a public comment prior to ECMC’s decision on the CAP in late June.
