Protect what matters: Clean water, clean air, clean communities

Save The Aurora Reservoir appreciates all of your current and past support.  Your tax-deductible contributions are critical to keep up with our legal expenses.  Take action today to safeguard our water, air, health, and quality of life. Your donation helps sustain our fight against the Lowry Ranch CAP.

Want to make your donation offline? Contact us at info@savetheaurorareservoir.org to arrange alternative forms of payment, including checks.

Don’t forget to ask your employer if they will match charitable donations! As a 501(c)(3) public charity, we are eligible for most corporate matches. We can even help you navigate this process if needed to ensure your donation achieves the greatest possible impact.

What your contribution provides:

  • $500 pays for two hours of legal representation as we prepare for upcoming State and County hearings (Affected Party Status) and request public hearings.
  • Recommended donation: $250 pays for one hour of legal representation, a critical component of our campaign against the Lowry Ranch CAP.
  • $100 helps defray the cost of printing bilingual educational materials that raise awareness among community members; one-click emails that enable concerned residents to easily contact their local and state representatives and ECMC; canvassing and town hall events; and more.

Any and all support is greatly appreciated.  Gift within your means.

What’s at stake:

  • The Lowry Ranch comprehensive area plan (CAP) is an approved hydraulic fracturing project with planned well sites north, east, and south of the Aurora Reservoir.
  • Any activities on the former Lowry Bombing and Gunnery Range pose potential health and safety hazards due to the presence of live munitions.
  • The Lowry Landfill is a federally recognized hazardous waste site on the national priorities list, also known as a “Superfund” site. It is considered under long-term remediation by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
  • Several wellpads operating concurrently in close proximity to our homes and schools severely deteriorating our air quality The proposed well pads will be clearly visible from the Aurora Reservoir recreational area and surrounding neighborhoods.
  • 39,000 vehicle trips traveling within 500 feet of Aurora Reservoir, at one point, 220 trips/day for 80 days.
  • Subsurface drilling may stretch as far west as highway E-470 — encompassing a highly populated residential area that is home to many families and schools. Interactive map >

  • Participated in meetings with Arapahoe County Planning Commission as they adopt stricter  Oil & Gas regulations in our County.
  • Garnered the support of U.S. Congressman Jason Crow, who subsequently issued a press release and contacted the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regarding our concerns.
  • Officially registered as a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization, which means your donations are now tax-deductible.

Keep the momentum going! Safeguard our future with your donation today. Save The Aurora Reservoir is counting on your generous support at this most critical time.
